Geneva, 12 December 2025 – The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) has opened the public consultation on the latest update to its safe use program, the IFRA Standards – the fragrance industry’s risk-based product stewardship system. The consultation, focused on the 52^nd Amendment to the IFRA Standards, is now underway and will remain open until 12 June 2026.

IFRA’s Director for Europe, Aurélie Perrichet, highlights a critical moment for the future of safe and creative fragrance in Europe as discussions advance on the Chemicals Omnibus.

The truth is simple: fragrance safety is not left to chance. It is built into the rules, the testing, the assessments and the people whose job it is to make sure fragranced products are safe to use every day.

A growing number of regions are engaging in open, science-based discussions on fragrance ingredients.

Last week (November 2025), IFRA President Alexander Mohr and LATAM Regional Manager Eduardo Valle carried out a series of strategic engagements in Mexico City, supported by IFRA’s national association partner ANFPA. The visit reinforced IFRA’s commitment to advancing cooperation, regulatory alignment, and shared innovation across Latin America’s fragrance value chain.

IFRA and the International Society of Perfumer-Creators (ISPC) took part in a constructive exchange with European Commission officials and Member States on 21 November at the meeting of the Cosmetics Products Working Group (CPWG) in Brussels.

Last week, the IFRA team took part in the CTFAS Regulatory Forum earlier this week, joining regulators, industry leaders and technical specialists for a full day focused on the future of cosmetics, personal care and wellness regulation across Asia.

This year marks the 20^th anniversary of the European Partnership for Alternative Approaches to Animal Testing (EPAA). Its Annual Conference this year was a significant milestone in promoting innovative, humane, and scientifically robust alternatives to animal testing for regulatory science. IFRA was proud to participate in the events, contributing to discussions that shape the future of science-driven and sustainable safety assessments.
